This game being made under 6 weeks with just a small group of students is astounding. I love the simplistic art, the animations of the divers is amazing and really gives me the feel of wanting to escape to my little sea den! Now the story I'm feeling is going to be powerful. Shoutout Ryan. Props to the lead programmer Emma for putting this short game together in a short time. But Mersina's art and environmental design really ties it all together.

This is a clever little game that has great potential and I'm here for it. I can envision a short story introduction of the divers riding a boat hunting squid for some good "Moola". Maybe we can add a squid family preview, on some "Finding Nemo" type shi.

The squid feels a bit fast at spawn; I think we should lower the speed then let the upgrade speed be a choice. I felt as if it was hard to do all attack, dodge, and control where I was going. I like the two different attacks although I could only get the blue ink bomb type thing to kill my opps, while the white bullet I used for speed and maneuver. I did like the different audio ques to help me differentiate between which attack I was using. That helped because I felt myself trapped on the edge of the left or right border and struggling to get to the main screen. Now I think I can chalk that up to skill issues. I am not also sure if my hearts were actually being taken away from the UI because I would get caught and it would auto reset the game with full hearts. Excuse me if it's my own gameplay fault.

I like the different types of creatures and their attacks along with the combination of divers. Brings a real natural feel to the life of a squid. Have to dodge your opps that want to eat and kill you. Then dodge these weird creatures (A joke b/c a squid doesn't know what a human being is). The upgrade shop is fun touch to the game to not make it feel so static and repetitive. I like the simple, yet important choice I am forced to make. Between more health, speed, or resistance. Really like the crab in the shop. I bet he a cool dude, fr fr, a haaa haa. The music also being made by your team is a nice touch of originality that enthuses the player into listening in, and it just gives the game a more complete feel.

Lastly, can we just appreciate such a creative and original name?!? "Squink Inc."... LOVE IT.
